COMMON QUESTIONS

What is a Life Group?

In a Life Group, eight to twelve adults in the same stage of life meet regularly to pursue spiritual growth and fun, healthy relationships. You’ll be encouraged to live out the truths you discover in the Bible, as you encourage others to do the same.

When and where do groups meet?

Groups meet on various days of the week.  Groups normally meet in one of the group member’s homes.

How often do Life Groups meet?

Most groups normally meet weekly.   We encourage groups to meet for three weeks out of the month and either take off the fourth week or do a social activity together.  Life Groups are meant to bring meaning and community into the flow of your life, so even if you can’t attend every meeting, there is still great value in joining a group.

How long does a Life Group last?

Life Groups initially commit to meet for eight weeks as a starter group.  After those first eight weeks, the group members decide if they want to continue meeting together for an additional 10 week trimester.  Most groups will continue to meet 3 trimesters of 10 weeks each year.

How long does each group meeting last?

Each Life Group picks the length of time they will meet.   However, most groups meet for an hour and a half to two hours.

What goes on at a group meeting?

Though each group differs, many groups have a social time at the beginning, then they transition to a time where they view a video or discuss a book or Bible passage they are studying, and pray for each other.

What does it mean when a group “multiplies?”

During the course of the group, the group leader will train an apprentice to be the next leader of the group.   When ready, the leader will take a couple people with them to start a new group.  Then they will both add more members to their respective new groups, therefore multiplying and allowing others to join groups.

What do they study?

While some will choose to study and apply the Sunday AM messages, others will pick their own curriculum to study with the help of the Group Director.

Is childcare provided for each group meeting?

Childcare varies from group to group. When you search our directory for a group, the group profile will indicate if childcare is available.

What if I don't like the first group I try?

The truth is, not everyone will find the best fit with the first group they try. This is why we encourage you to select a few groups that interest you, contact the leaders and try out a couple different groups before choosing the best one for you. The simple strategy to finding success in Life Groups is to not give up. We believe there is a group that is right for everyone—including you!
